Experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves. Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver course - the world's most popular and widely recognized scuba course.

The PADI Open Water Diver course opens up the underwater world for you. During this course, you'll learn what you need to know to explore the underwater world, whether simply snorkeling in the shallows with mask, fins and snorkel, or visiting longer and deeper using scuba (a word derived from self contained underwater breathing apparatus). Most people find learning to dive a fun challenge that's neither effortless nor overly arduous.

Once you've completed the course, you will be fully qualified to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18-metres (daylight only).

Who can enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course:

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification.

No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

Minimum Age: 15 Years*

*If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. *A Junior Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.

Course Structure

What will I do?

To become a scuba diver, you need to demonstrate that you're comfortable in water and have some basic swimming skills. Your instructor will have you float/tread water for 10 minutes and swim 200 metres/yards (no time limit) or swim 300 metres/yards in mask, fins and snorkel (no time limit) - nothing extreme, just enough to determine you have basic swimming abilities.

Open Water manual

Throughout the course you will learn the essentials of scuba diving through a combination of theory and practical sessions in the pool and the ocean. You earn this rating by completing:

- 5 (five) pool dives and knowledge development sessions.

- 4 (four) open water (ocean) dives.

*The ocean dives can be done at the beach. However many students choose to upgrade their dive experience with a boat trip.

- Pass the Final Exam (Pass = 75% or higher)

How long will it take?

Normally 4 days*

*PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Scuba Training Philippines has a variety of schedules to meet most individuals needs. We offer private courses for those who want a more personal experience in learning to dive.

How long do I have to complete the course?

12 months from date of commencement, however we strongly encourage students to complete their course within 2 months.

You can complete your course in one go or spread out your dives over a few months. Please speak to an Instructor to create a basic schedule.
